the gifts of the spirit
1 Corinthians 12:1-10

The Fruit of the Spirit is an attribute of attitude and character. It means living one's life with good morals and motives as well as doing good things for others. Producing the fruit of goodness is a true mark of godliness. It also has an attractive power and draws people to Jesus through the Christ-like actions. If it takes work it is from the flesh and not the Spirit.

If we want to produce the fruit of the Spirit, we must ask the Holy Spirit to "fill" us each day with fresh power for obedience. There are 4 things we must do in order to bear the Fruits of the Spirit:

1. Study the Word of God

2. Praying (listening to God)

3. Fellowship (don't walk out your Christian walk alone) / Iron-Sharpening Iron. Accountability.

4. Submit to discipline. First Self-discipline (Atomic Habits) and the second, church discipline having watchful authority, greater er understanding and accountability.

We must call upon the Holy Spirit to grow in the 9 Attributes (Habits) of the Fruit of the Spirit:

1. Love

2. Joy

3. Peace

4. Patience

5. Kindness

6. Goodness

7. Faithfulness

8. Gentleness

9. Self-Control

Love

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

"If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love it profits me nothing."
